Orlando Morales, Jr. made his debut at 12:39 a.m. at St. Vincent's Medical Center in Bridgeport.
The baby's parents are Kimberly Torres and Orlando Morales, Sr. of Shelton.
The parents said "what a great way to start our new year!" upon their son's arrival.
Orlando, Jr. weighed in at 3.15 kg and measured 48.3 cm in length.
Meantime, HHC said the first baby born in the capital city in 2022 was Alice Ekuni, who arrived at 2:34 this morning.
The proud parents of Alice are Andressa and Leandro Ekuni of Plainville.
