EAST HAVEN, Conn. (WTIC Radio) - East Haven Police are investigating a Sunday afternoon home invasion during which the suspects allegedly sought a high dollar value cat.
A resident at the home on Thompson Street told police that around 3:46 p.m. Sunday, attempts were made to prevent the two suspects from entering the house, but they were unsuccessful after one of the suspects kicked through a rear slider door's glass pane. Once inside the residence, the two suspects brandished a firearm and demanded the resident’s high dollar value cat.
After several minutes of searching the house for the cat, a resident fought off the intruders, who fled the residence in a blue BMW without the cat.
The investigation which led East Haven Police to Hamden, where the blue BMW was located.
That vehicle was seized and processed for evidence relating to the investigation.
Police say the parties involved in the case are known to each other.
No injuries were reported during this incident, which remains under investigation.
