SHELTON, Conn. (WTIC Radio)_ One home in Shelton is uninhabitable following a Sunday morning fire that injured the homeowner.
Shelton Fire Officials report the fire broke out around 11 a.m. on Sunday and grew in a mechanical room in the basement of a home on Green Rock. Flames quickly spread and reached the ceiling.
The fire did not reach the first or second floors of the home but those floors suffered smoke and heat damage.
The homeowner injured their hand in trying to put out the first on their own. No other injuries were reported.
The cause is under investigation.
