GRANBY, Conn. (WTIC Radio)—Authorities in Granby closed a section of Route 10 as emergency personnel responded to a structure fire Wednesday morning.
A passing motorist notified the Granby Police Department of smoke coming from the windows of a single family home on Salmon Brook Street at about 8:15 a.m., Police Department Captain William Tyler said in a statement.
In responding to the blaze, authorities closed down Route 10 from Route 20 to Mechanicsville Road.
According to police, the residents were not home at the time, however, two dogs died in the incident.
The roadway was reopened about two hours later.
The Fire Marshal is investigating the cause of the fire.
