NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTIC Radio) - New Haven Police release the name of the man struck and killed on Foxon Boulevard Wednesday night.
Police say city resident Jaime Melendez-Martinez, 58, entered the eastbound lane of Foxon Boulevard outside of a marked crosswalk around 10:15 p.m.
He was leaving a Walmart parking lot when he was struck by a vehicle heading toward Quinnipiac Avenue.
Melendez-Martinez was pronounced dead at Yale New Haven Hospital.
The vehicle fled the scene but later went to the New Haven Police Department to report the crash.
