LISBON, Conn. (WTIC Radio) - Connecticut State Police are charging a Ledyard man in connection with a crash that killed a pedestrian in Lisbon.
Police say William Stonier, 36, allegedly struck and killed a pedestrian who was walking on River Road around 10:28 p.m. Monday night.
The red Dodge Ram Bighorn truck that Stonier was driving had gone off the road, struck the pedestrian and eventually a guardrail. The pedestrian, whose name hasn't been released yet, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Stonier is being charged with illegal operation of a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs and illegally carrying of a firearm with drugs and/or alcohol present.
Bond for Stonier has been set at $75,000.
