(WTIC Radio) - Connecticut State Police are investigating a crash that has killed a Lieutenant in Lisbon's fire department.
Troopers say Matthew Babcock, 39, of Lisbon, was driving a 2003 Dodge RAM 3500 truck on Route 164 in Preston around 5:08 p.m. when he lost control at a curve, struck a Toyota Camry driving in the opposing lane, and went off the roadway.
The RAM rolled over into a ditch where it was partially submerged in a creek.
Babcock was later pronounced dead.
The two people in the Toyota were evaluated and treated for non-life-threatening injuries at Backus Hospital in Norwich.
The Lisbon Fire Department is responding to the death of Lt. Babcock.
