NEW LONDON, Conn. (WTIC Radio)—The New London Police Department is investigating an early Labor Day shooting that sent one male victim to the emergency room, officials reported Monday morning.
Officers responded to the report of gunshots fire at about 2:45 a.m. around the area of Montauk and Denison Avenues in New London.
Upon arrival, offers located multiple shell casings, police said.
A short time later, a gunshot victim arrived at the Backus Hospital Emergency Room in Norwich. According to police, the male victim reported having been shot in New London.
In the preliminary investigation, police determined that the incident did not appear to be a random act. The New London Police Department is working with the Norwich Police Department in the ongoing investigation.
The victim, police said, is in stable condition.
