Torrington, Conn./WTIC Radio - Torrington Middle School was placed on a soft lockdown for a time Wednesday after police say a man made threats directed toward the school.

At around noon, investigtors say they responded to a reported abandoned vehicle at Spencer Road and Torringford Street.

Police say that vehicle matched one that fled officers earlier in the day.

They say Bounnhang Xaysithideth called dispatchers, commenting about "posting up the school".

State police joined Torrington police in responding to the area around the school.

They later found the 47-year-old suspect on Magnolia street.

He's facing ten separate charges from other cases including burglary, criminal mischief, failure to appear and larceny.
