Man arrested for stabbing at Norwalk Hospital

NORWALK, Conn. (WTIC Radio)_ Norwalk Police arrest a man accused in a stabbing incident earlier this month.

Investigators arrested Shamar Grant, of Stamford, in the stabbing that happened in the parking lot of Norwalk Hospital on June 5, 2021, at 10:42 a.m.


The victim, who had parked his vehicle in a Norwalk Hospital parking lot off of Rhodonolia Drive, was preparing to receive a patient who was in the process of being discharged.

The victim was loading the patient’s items into the back of a vehicle when a male, unknown to the victim, rushed the victim, stabbing him twice.

Police say the victim then walked back into the hospital with serious physical injuries and was quickly attended to, and has since been released from the hospital.

Grant has been charged with first-degree assault.

Bond is $1,250,000.
