PLAINFIELD, Conn. (WTIC Radio) - Plainfield Police arrest a man accused of holding a knife to a woman's throat during a home invasion.
Police responded to an address in the Moosup section of Plainfield around 2:30 a.m. Friday.
Police say the suspect, Brandon Adkins, 32, unlawfully entered a woman's home and held a knife to her throat in the presence of her juvenile child, who was sleeping in the same bed.
Officials say the victim has a protective order against Adkins.
Another juvenile in the house fled and went to a neighbor for help.
The neighbor and the victim were able to get Adkins away from the victim.
Adkins fled the home and the area before officers arrived.
Plainfield Police, with help from Connecticut State Police, were unable to track down Adkins the rest of the day.
An anonymous tip reported Adkins was staying at a residence in Brooklyn, Connecticut. He was taken into custody around 11:59 p.m. Friday.
Police arrested and charged Adkins with disorderly conduct, second-degree assault, second-degree threatening, second-degree reckless endangerment, violation of a protective order, home invasion, and two counts of risk of injury to a minor.
