WINDSOR LOCKS, Conn. (WTIC Radio) - Federal Prosecutors charge a Kansas resident in connection with an assault on a flight attendant during a flight departing from Bradley International Airport in Windsor Locks.
They say Julius Priester, 24, of Wichita, allegedly ripped his shirt off before a tirade a half hour into the flight to Chicago on Tuesday night.
He ran to the back of a plane while yelling "help me," grabbed a flight attendant who was seated, said "you're coming with me," and forcefully brought the attendant to the ground, before attempting to drag them up the aisle.
Passengers intervened and got Priester back to his seat, where he continued to act erratically.
The captain declared an emergency and returned to Bradley.
Connecticut State Police removed Priester from the plane.
An ambulance took him to a hospital for an evaluation.
He's facing up to 20 years in prison for interference with flight crew members and attendants.
