Man charged in wild Norwich brawl

Norwich, Conn./WTIC Radio - Police in Norwich have made an arrest in a big brawl that occurred at a city park over the weekend.

Under arrest is Jaylen Jarmon, 23.

Police say around 5:00 p.m. Saturday, they were called to Jenkins Park on a report that between 200-and-300 people were fighting.

Officers tried separating the combatants as others jumped in.

They say Jarmon allegedly struck a man in the back of the head as officers were tending to one injured participant.

Jarmon then allegedly attacked officers who tried to place him under arrest, placing one officer in a chokehold and punching and kneeing him to the head.

Officers used a taser and pepper spray to get ahold of Jarmon.

The Connecticut State Police, Montville Police, Ledyard Police and Killingly Police assisted Norwich police.

As for Jarmon, he's charged with assault, assault on an officer, breach of peace and interfering.

Bond was set at $250,000.

Norwich police are asking anyone who may have video of the brawl to contact them.
