New Haven, Conn./WTIC Radio - A New Jersey man faces federal charges he used postal keys to steal mail from boxes in West Haven and New Haven.
Federal prosecutors and postal inspectors say Xavier Holman, Jr., 31, of Secaucus, used stolen mail collection keys to steal mail on at least six occasions between December of 2022 and this month.
Holman allegedly hit boxes on Fountain Street in New Haven and Campbell Avenue in West Haven.
Officials say he was arrested on Monday when he returned to the West Haven post office in an attempt to steal more mail.
Holman had two collection keys on him at the time of his arrest, officials said.
He's charged with being in possession of a postal key, theft of mail and theft of postal service property.
Holman is free on bond pending a court appearance.
