(Milford, Conn./WTIC Radio) - There's update on a crash Saturday involving a pedestrian on Interstate 95 in Milford.
State police say the victim, Vinton Dawson, 61, of Killingworth has died.
Investigators say around 2:00 a.m. on Saturday, Dawson was struck and injured in the shoulder of the highway while assisting a motorist on the southbound side near the exit 34 on-ramp.
Dawson was hit by the driver of a Hyundai Genesis as he was helping the operator of a tractor trailer that became disabled.
The driver of the Hyundai fled the scene, according to police.
Dawson was taken to Bridgeport Hospital and died Monday morning just before 5:00 a.m.
Anyone with any information or who may have witnessed the crash is asked to contact state police at the Troop G barracks in Bridgeport.
