PORTLAND, Conn. (WTIC Radio) - Crews are searching for a man who apparently jumped off the Arrigoni Bridge on the Portland side of the bridge.
The man, according to witnesses and Middletown Police, parked a car in a construction zone on the bridge that carries Route 66 over the Connecticut River.
Police say the man got out of the car, jumped over the fence on the side of the bridge, and fell into the Connecticut River below.
Middletown Police and Fire are assisting Portland Police with their dive crew.
Crews haven't been able to locate the man's body or identify him.
It is confirmed he was not part of the construction crew.
