When they arrived on scene, police said they found a man with stab wounds and a woman with a head injury.

A man forced his way into the room and confronted the two victims, police said.

The suspect threw an object at the woman, causing a head injury, before stabbing the male victim multiple times, police determined.

The suspect later fled on foot.

According to police, the suspect is known to the victims who are being treated for their injuries at Hartford Hospital.

Officers tried tracking the suspect with assistance from a Middletown police K9, to no avail.

The investigation is ongoing.
