MANCHESTER, Conn. (WTIC Radio)_ The Manchester Road Race Committee announces its plans to bring runners together in person for the 85th running of the Manchester Road Race.
Plans are in the works to hold its usual 4.748-mile run on Thanksgiving Day (November 25, 2021).
COVID-19 forced the committee to cancel the road race last Thanksgiving and hold a virtual event instead. Some 2,000 participants signed up for the virtual race.
Online registration for the Thanksgiving morning tradition opens on September 1, 2021. Runners will be able to participate virtually this year, as well.
“There’s nothing quite as special as Thanksgiving morning in Manchester, Connecticut,” said Manchester Mayor Jay Moran. “The Town is thrilled to be hosting the Manchester Road Race once again.”
The 85th Manchester Road Race will be held at 10 a.m. on Thanksgiving Day. The race, which is run on a loop course, starts and finishes on Main Street in Manchester, in front of St. James Church.
