NORTH HAVEN, Conn.(WTIC Radio)-A veteran North Haven firefighter injured fighting a fire this morning has died.
Officials said Matthias Wirz died outside the three-family home on Quinnipiac Avenue.
A Mayday call went out, saying a firefighter was down from the one a.m. fire.
Wirz was transported to the hospital where he later died. He was a decorated 22-year veteran of the department.
No other injuries were reported.
