(Hartford, Conn./WTIC Radio) - The Metropolitan District Commission is advising customers having difficulty meeting their bills to sign up for a payment plan to prevent shutoffs.
The water company says service shutoffs for delinquent accounts will begin June 5.
MDC instituted a moratorium on shutoffs two years ago at the onset of the pandemic.
Company officials are urging customers to take advantage of any one of a number of payment plans.
In addition, CEO Scott Jellison says customers may also qualify for assistance through Operation Fuel and the Community Renewal Team.
Customers are urged to contact those two agencies or call 211 for more information.
