Hartford, Conn. (WTIC Radio)-Members of the board monitoring West Haven's finances said the city has been uncooperative providing information needed to make policy decisions.
Several members of the Municipal Accountability Review Board have endorsed a plan to hold a public hearing in September, bringing city council members before the panel to justify its decisions.
One board member said six requests for information have gone unanswered.
MARB has distributed more than $16 million to the city to remedy its financial struggles.
West Haven has been plagued with decades of unbalanced budgets. Most recently federal Covid money was misappropriated and spent for personal use by former West Haven State Representative Michael DiMassa and his wife, according to authorities.
An audit also discovered several city employees had access to a city credit card.
