NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTIC Radio)_ New Haven and Meriden police departments are teaming up to investigating shots fired at an off-duty Meriden officer who used to work on the police force in New Haven.
New Haven Police say a female Meriden officer left a residence at the Essex Townhouses on Quinnipiac Avenue in New Haven around 9 p.m. Thursday.
When she made it inside her car, a man on the sidewalk began shooting at her.
She was not injured. Bullet holes riddled the backside of her car.
New Haven and Meriden police have teamed up for the investigation. They say it is not clear whether the shooting was tied to her work as an officer.
The officer used to work on the police force in New Haven, but was recently transferred to Meriden.
