VERNON, Conn. (WTIC Radio) - Vernon police say the puppy that ran off after its owner was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver has been located.
The dog, named Ollie, was found safe on Brighton Lane and returned to the Aggarwala family Saturday morning, said police.
Police announced Friday that they had identified a suspect in the crash that killed Andrew Aggarwala, 44, the father of two children.
Aggarwala, a volunteer for the Vernon Soccer Club, was walking the 6-month-old puppy when he was hit by a car on Tuesday afternoon on Phoenix Street.
"There was a large community response in searching for Ollie," said police. "Police have been in touch with the family who has expressed their deepest gratitude to all those involved in locating Ollie."
