New London, Conn./WTIC Radio - A New London police officer already on administrative leave for repeated domestic incidents has been arrested a fourth time.
New London Police Chief Brian Wright says Officer Julio Gil-Martinez was arrested Wednesday by another law enforcement agency.
The latest arrest comes on the heels of a third arrest involving the veteran officer just days prior.
Details of the latest arrest weren't released.
Gil-Martinez was first arrested last November after arguments with his girlfriend allegedly turned physical.
A judge had ordered Gil-Martinez not to have any contact with his girlfriend.
"This situation is a tragedy that impacts not only those directly involved but also our entire community", said Chief Wright.
The chief went on to say "It is crucial to emphasize that the actions of one individual do not reflect the dedication and professionalism demonstrated by the many members of the New London Police Department."
