NEW LONDON, Conn. (WTIC Radio)_ New London Mayor Michael E. Passero places Police Chief Brian Wright on paid administrative leave following a complaint made Wednesday.
The complaint that was made has not been released to the public.
An internal investigation is underway, as an outside legal investigator conducts the investigation.
While Police Chief Wright is on Administrative Leave, Mayor Passero has appointed, Retired Deputy Chief of the Hartford Police Department, Neville A. Brooks as interim Superintendent of Police.
In a written statement, Mayor Passero remains confident in Chief Wright’s leadership of the New London Police Department.
The City Administration will not be commenting further until the completion of the internal investigation.
