NORTH HAVEN, Conn. (WTIC Radio) - Connecticut State Police say speed is a factor in a deadly crash on I-91 in North Haven.
Cassandra Carlson, 23, of North Haven, was speeding according to police when she struck a car ahead of her on I-91 Southbound near Exit 9 on Sunday evening around 8:45 p.m.
Both cars then spun out of control.
The car Carlson was driving rolled over and crashed into the median. During the rollover, she was ejected from the car.
A tractor trailer traveling in the leftmost lane on I-91 Northbound struck Carlson.
Carlson was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the car that was initially struck was transported to an area hospital for treatment of suspect minor injuries. The driver of the tractor trailer was not injured.
