NORWICH, Conn. (WTIC Radio) - A Norwich police officer is recovering from minor injuries after a suspect rammed his cruiser and threatened to shoot him, before going on to smash into other vehicles in a police department parking lot Tuesday morning, said police.
Roland Euell, 28, intentionally drove into the passenger side of the marked police cruiser on Judd Road shortly after 6:30 a.m. and threatened to shoot the officer seated inside, before getting back into his Honda Accord and fleeing, said police.

Officers attempted to pull over the vehicle on Rockwell Street, but it fled, and officers followed it to the area of police headquarters, where Euell drove into the rear parking area and hit several personal and city-owned vehicles, said authorities.
Euell was arrested after his car broke down in the parking lot, said police. He faces charges including assault on a police officer, second-degree threatening and first-degree criminal mischief. Euell was held on $200,000 bond pending arraignment in Norwich Superior Court on February 10.
The officer who was in the cruiser on Judd Road was taken to Backus Hospital with minor injuries.
