NORWICH, Conn. (WTIC Radio) - The Norwich Police Department is investigating an armed robbery that involve two suspects believed to be involved in an armed carjacking and in another armed robbery in Glastonbury, according to police.
Just before 5 a.m. Thursday, Norwich officers and detectives responded to a reported robbery at the Taftville Xtramart Gas Station at 186 Norwich Avenue.
Responding officers later learned that a white or Hispanic man entered the shop, displayed a handgun and demanded cash from the register as well as a customer, police said.

A female suspect accompanied the male suspect, officers said. Police have also determined the suspect vehicle as a 2014 Black Ford F-150 with a black bed cover.
Investigators believe the suspect vehicle was carjacked at gunpoint in East Hartford before the two suspects traveled to Norwich where they allegedly committed the Xtramart robbery, police said.

At about 6 a.m. in Glastonbury, police said an armed robbery at the Shell Gas Station at 566 Hebron Avenue. The suspect, police said, was described as having a Spanish accent.
According to Glastonbury police, patrol officers were at the gas station within one minute of the 911 call but the suspect had already left the area.
Norwich police said the vehicle of the Xtramart robbery matched the suspect vehicle of the armed robbery in Glastonbury.
The descriptions of the suspects also matched for the two robberies and the carjacking, authorities said.
Anyone with information on any of the incidents is asked to contact lead investigating Detective Richard Cannata with Norwich Police at 860-886-5561 (Ext. 3138) or the Glastonbury Police Department Investigations Unit at 860-652-4260.
