Manchester, Conn./WTIC Radio - Manchester police say one of their officers shot a suspect during an apparent domestic incident late Sunday night.
Officers were dispatched to a residence in town just before 11:00 p.m.
A caller reported an 18-year-old was armed with a knife during the incident.
Police arrived to find the suspect in the roadway.
It was during that encounter that one of the officers discharged their weapon, hitting the suspect.
That person was treated at the scene and then transported to an area trauma center.
The Connecticut State Police Central District Major Crime Squad arrived to process the scene.
The case has since been turned over to the Office of Inspector General, standard procedure when an officer discharges their firearm.
