OLD LYME, Conn. (WTIC Radio) - Connecticut State Police and Old Lyme Police are investigating a Saturday night gunshot injury.
Troopers say Jordan Rehberg, 31, of Old Saybrook, was cleaning his handgun at a dining room table at a residence on Portland Avenue Extension when the gun discharged and injured one of the adults at the table.
The victim sustained injuries to both hands and was transported to Yale New Haven Hospital via ambulance for treatment.
Investigators learned that two juveniles were allegedly nearby at the time of the incident.
Rehberg is charged with illegal discharge of a firearm, second-degree assault, two counts of risk of injury to a child, and second-degree reckless endangerment.
Rehberg is released on a $10,000 bond and is scheduled to be arraigned in New London Superior Court on April 13, 2023.
