Bloomfield, Conn./WTIC Radio - Bloomfield police are investigating an early morning crash that left one person dead and several others injured.
Investigators say around 5:16 a.m., two vehicles traveling at a high rate of speed north on Blue Hills Avenue left the roadway between West Dudley Town Road and Old Windsor Road.
One vehicle struck a utility pole, severing it and catching fire while the other vehicle struck a buidling.
The vehicle that hit the pole had five occupants, one of whom was pronounced dead at the scene.
The others in that car suffered serious to life-threatening injuries.
