Connecticut State Police are investigating a double tractor trailer crash on I-84 Eastbound in Vernon.
The crash, late Wednesday night, involved a tractor trailer that was parked in the shoulder when a second tractor trailer struck it while traveling on the highway.
The second tractor trailer became engulfed in flames at that time.
One driver died in the crash.
The State Medical Examiner's Office is working to confirm their identity.
I-84 Eastbound is closed between Exits 66 and 67. It has been since 11:27 p.m., according to the Connecticut Department of Transportation. State Police aren't saying when the highway could reopen, pending further cleanup and investigative efforts.
