New London, Conn./WTIC Radio - Police and emergency personnel are at the scene of a partial building collapse in New London.
Part of the structure that houses First Congregational and Engaging Heaven Churches on Union Street came down earlier this afternoon.
An official at Engaging Heaven said via Facebook they don't think anyone was inside or outside the church facility at the time of the collapse.
Governor Lamont says he's been in touch "with state police and emergency management officials."
Police are advising those who travel in the area of the activity to stay away and seek another route.
