WATERBURY, Conn. (WTIC Radio) - The City of Waterbury announces that final paving on Thomaston Avenue will take place Thursday, marking the completion of repair and restoration work following the December water main emergency.
Paving operations are scheduled to begin between 6:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m.
Crews are on site today preparing the roadway in advance of the paving work.
Tilcon will open specifically to supply paving materials for this project, and Dayton Construction will perform the paving operations.
While the city anticipates the paving work will be completed tomorrow, Thomaston Avenue is not expected to reopen to traffic until after daylight hours due to curing time and final safety checks.
Motorists are advised to plan accordingly and follow posted detours and traffic control signage.
The water main break in early December left all Waterbury residents, and most neighboring communities, without water at one point in time before gradual restoration took place over the span of five days.
