
New Haven, Conn./WTIC Radio - A person was seriously injured last night in what New Haven police are calling a hit-and-run crash.
Officers say it was just after 11:00 p.m. when the victim was riding a scooter and was struck by a vehicle in the area of Whalley Avenue and Amity Road.
The driver of the motor vehicle fled the scene, police said.
The pedestrian was unresponsive when officers arrived and was rushed to Yale New Haven Hospital.
The victim is suffering from life-threatening injuries and is currently listed in critical condition.
Police say they have spoken to witnesses and are searching for any video surveillance footage that might be available.
