WETHERSFIELD, Conn. (WTIC Radio) - State police are now leading the investigation into a deadly car crash in Wethersfield Thursday, that was preceded by an effort by Hartford police to stop the car involved.

The 2002 BMW 745i rolled over and crashed into a utility pole on Prospect Street around 11:15 a.m., said troopers.

Two passengers were ejected. One of them, Miguel Gonzalez, 45, of Hartford was later pronounced dead of his injuries at Hartford Hospital, said police.

Before the crash, state police say Hartford officers had attempted to pull over the car for a "suspicious incident involving a firearm."
