Waterbury, Conn(WTIC Radio)-A Waterbury man is charged with murder for a homicide that occurred at the Salsa Tropical Social Club later Saturday night, Waterbury Police said.
Police responded to the parking lot of the club on Watertown Avenue just after eleven because of a shots fired incident. They later located a victim who has been shot outside the club and was transported to Waterbury Hospital prior to police arriving.
The shooting victim, Dennis Santos, 51, was pronounced deceased at the hospital. Santos owned the social club.
Investigators determined an altercation occurred in the parking lot. They later identified a suspect, identified as Ramon Rodriguez of Waterbury. Police said he fired gunshots, when Santos sustained a gunshot wound. Police said they discovered no other victims.
Police took Rodriguez into custody, also recovering a loaded firearm.
Rodriguez faces a host of charges including murder, reckless endangerment and weapons offenses. He's being held by Waterbury Police on two million dollars bond.
