STORRS, Conn. (WTIC Radio) - The UConn Board of Trustees votes Wednesday morning to select Dr. Radenka Maric as the 17th President of the University of Connecticut.
Maric has served as UConn’s interim president since February 1, 2022. At that time, she replaced several former interim presidents and presidents following the 2019 departure of Former President Susan Herbst, who held the role for 9 years.
The Board of Trustees unanimously and confirmed Maric’s appointment Wednesday, saying she rose to the top of a highly competitive pool of candidates during the national search.
Her five-year term began immediately upon the board’s vote.
