The City of Waterbury has another water make break, after an initial break that emerged earlier this week and was fixed early Friday morning.

The break in the area of Tompkins Street and Watertown Avenue emerged around 1:30 a.m. when the initial repairs on the Tompkins were completed and water was being gradually reintroduced into the system.

Crews shut off valves to stop the flow of water, according to the city, and began assessing damage in the area.

In addition to those customers already without water service, residents and businesses in the Town Plot and Country Club neighborhoods should expect to lose water later this morning as storage tanks are depleted.

It's believed some 15,000 customers are impacted.

The city will continue distributing bottled water to affected residents at the Municipal Stadium North Parking Lot, 1200 Watertown Avenue, today from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Residents in the newly affected neighborhoods are also encouraged to utilize the distribution site if they lose water service.
