The investigation comes at the request of two Senators, including Connecticut Democrat Richard Blumenthal. He and Wisconsin Republican Ron Johnson want to know more about the alleged mishandling of dozens of reports of sexual assaults at the academy in New London.
Blumenthal says an investigation that substantiated those reports was suppressed, and he calls that "disgraceful."
In a letter, Blumenthal and Johnson write that it is unclear whether those responsible are still in the Coast Guard.
