BLOOMFIELD, Conn. (WTIC Radio) - Bloomfield Police are investigating a domestic violence incident.
Officers responded to a residence on Walsh Street around 9 p.m. Friday.
A 77-year-old man was on the floor, bleeding and suffering severe head and facial injuries. He was not breathing and did not have a pulse.
The victim was transported to Saint Francis Hospital for treatment, where the victim's pulse and breathing were restored. He is now currently in ICU.
A family member, who called 911, was at the scene. They heard banging coming from first floor while they were upstairs, so they went to investigate.
Officers detained suspect Kevin Carter, 32, of Bloomfield, in the driveway of the crime scene.
Carter complained of difficulty breathing and was hospitalized at Hartford Hospital.
Carter is charged with first-degree assault on an elderly person.
