Hamden, Conn./WTIC Radio - If you're an incoming freshman at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, you may find no dorm room for you.
The university is having to house 45 students into study lounges, due to a space crunch.
Some of those lounges are reportedly housing as many as eight students each.
University spokesman John Morgan said blame it on the university's increased popularity.
"We're having a lot of great buzz on campus" said Morgan. "We just came off a year in which we won a national men's hockey championship. We're in the process of (constructing) three new buildings on our south quad."
Morgan said the university will have a clearer picture as to how many students will be in lounges once classes begin Monday.
He said the number of residential students fluctuates as the semester progresses, with students either dropping out, enrolling in a different school, or commuting from home.
He stresses students will be moved into regular dorm rooms as quickly as possible.
