Hartford, Conn./WTIC Radio - Governor Lamont is calling the legislature back to the Capitol for a special session.
Lawmakers are to convene Monday to take up the issue of extending the 25-cent a gallon gas tax holiday.
Additionally, lawmakers will consider more funding for the Connecticut Energy Assistance Program and the Premium Pay Program.
Earlier this month, the state's two big utililities requested rate increases be approved by the Public Utilities Regulatory Authority.
Lamont also wants to see a continuation of free bus service on public transit lines.
The gas tax holiday was to end December 1st.
Under Lamont's suggestion, that would be extended through the end of the year and phased back in over a period of five months beginning January 1st.
