Storrs, Conn./WTIC Radio - South Carolina women's basketball coach Dawn Staley wants to put her flap with UConn's Geno Auriemma behind her.
Staley says she has since spoken to Auiemma following their dustup at the end of the Gamecocks 62-48 win over the Huskies in the national semifinal last Friday.
It apparently started when Auriemma became frustrated over a perceived lack of a pre-game handshake and carried over to the end of the game.
Auriemma issued a subsequent apology.
And now Staley says in a statement that she has spoken to Auriemma, adding that one moment doesn't define a career.
Staley says "I spoke with Geno, and I want to be clear -- I have a great deal of respect for him and what he's meant to this game."
Staley goes on to say she's asking everyone to turn the page and focus on growing the game.
