STAMFORD, Conn. (WTIC Radio)—Stamford police are searching for a vehicle they say is suspected of striking a pedestrian who is still in critical condition at the hospital two weeks after the incident.

At about 11:23 p.m. Sunday, June 6, Stamford police officers responded to a report of a person hit by a vehicle on Wilson Street, just south of Grenhart Road.

The pedestrian, a 45-year-old Stamford resident, was transported to Stamford Hospital with life-threatening injuries. According to police, the pedestrian is still in the Stamford Hospital ICU and is currently in critical but stable condition.

The vehicle fled the area before emergency personnel arrived, police said. With no witnesses on scene, the department's Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Squad identified a possible suspect vehicle with neighborhood surveillance cameras and City of Stamford traffic cameras.

Authorities describe the vehicle as a dark-colored four-door sedan, possibly an Acura TL, with a sunroof and an unknown Connecticut registration plate. The vehicle also appears to have damage to the front end and hood, police said.

Footage shows that at least three people occupied the vehicle, police said. The operator appears to be a white male, officials said.

Anyone with information on the vehicle is asked to contact Sgt. Jeffrey Booth or Officer Daniel Oliva at (203) 977-4712.
