
STAMFORD, CONN. (WTIC Radio) - A Stamford woman has been charged with DUI and other reckless driving offenses stemming from a June 2020 crash that resulted in the death of her unborn child.
Karen Chavez-Euceda, 36, was eight months pregnant when she drove recklessly around Cummings Park, in Stamford, and crashed. She had a blood alcohol level at the time of .27%, well above the legal limit of .08.
Connecticut law prohibits charges again the death of the fetus. She is charged with Operating Under the Influence, Evading Responsibility, Interfering with Police and Failure to Maintain Lane.
Chavez-Euceda was released after posting a $5,000 court set bond. and will be arraigned on April 14, 2021.
