State police say man deliberately drove wrong way on highway

East Hartford, Conn./WTIC Radio - State police have arrested a man for driving the wrong way while under the influence Wednesday night.

Troopers say Joshua Halla, 26, was spotted by motorists driving the wrong way along Routes 5 and 15 in East Hartford around 8:30 p.m.

They say Halla, of Wethersfield admitted to them that he'd smoked marijuana before getting behind the wheel and that he deliberately drove the wrong way for some unknown reason.

Halla was charged with OUI, reckless driving, driving the wrong way on a highway, reckless endangerment and criminal attempt at assault with a motor vehicle.

He was released after posting a $50,000 bond and is due back in court March 28.
