State Police seek help in West Hartford road rage investigation

WEST HARTFORD, Conn. (WTIC Radio) - Connecticut State Police want to hear from anyone who was witness to the deadly road rage incident in West Hartford on I-84 Eastbound on Tuesday afternoon.

During congestion around 3:15 p.m., it was reported the drivers of two big rigs, a 2023 Freightliner Tractor towing a 2007 Great Dane Trailer and a 2024 Freightliner Box Truck, had gotten into a road rage incident on I-84 Eastbound prior to Exit 44.

While in traffic, State Police say one of the drivers exited their truck, ran across the highway, and climbed onto the box truck, at which time a disturbance ensued.

During the disturbance, one of the individuals was run over by one of the involved vehicles.

The highway was closed for hours during an investigation.
