Street racing leads to deadly New Haven crash

(WTIC Radio) - New Haven Police make two arrests in connection with a deadly crash that happened during street racing.

Carlos Gonzalez, 31, was killed in the crash around 2:18 a.m. on October 30, 2022.

Police say Gonzalez was racing four other vehicles in a Honda Civic on Sargent Drive when a Subaru lost control and collided with Gonzalez's Civic.

It caused a crash with three other vehicles in total.

Six other people were injured.

New Haven Police, after a year's long investigation, arrest two suspect in connection with the crash.

Emily Murphy, 19, is charged with first-degree manslaughter, first-degree assault, reckless driving, and racing.

David Takdharie, 24, is charged with second-degree manslaughter with a motor vehicle, first-degree manslaughter, second-degree assault with a motor vehicle, first-degree assault, reckless driving, operating under the influence, and racing.
