Windsor, Conn. (WTIC Radio)-Union members continue to strike at Windsor Health and Rehab Center, seeking a new contract that includes higher wages and affordable health care.
The members belong to SEIU 1199 New England. The strike is now in its third week.
The union members are seeking 20 dollars an hour. Right now, they earn about $15 hourly. The union claims the company is profitable.
But Lekan Alatise, whose family owns the facility disputes that claim.
He said, " You can't always look at the numbers and think of what you're seeing meets the eye. We do what makes sense."
He's hopeful negotiations can reach a new agreement by the end of the month
